Hive forked off steemit in 2020 this means that in 2030 Hive will be 10 years since it forked off steemit. This means that it’s been 10 years of great experience by Hive users and 10 years of decentralized experience. We are already 3 years into that journey and it’s been great, 7 more years to go. Lots of things can happen before then, but one of the most anticipated things I expect to happen to Hive is mass adoption. This chain is so great to be undervalued. Mass adoption means more utilities and more demand, and that will also help in increasing the value of Hive.
The Hive engine ecosystem remains one of the most underutilized feature in the Hive blockchain, this is nobody’s fault but due to lack of people to utilize it. Most of the solutions a lot of people seek on other blockchains is right here on Hive but they don’t know about Hive because of bad Hive marketing, or should we say that Hive has not gotten its big marketing break yet. You know that moment when a certain chain starts trending organically and all of a sudden everyone is talking about it and using it, just like they did for Dogecoin, Hive has not gotten that opportunity yet.
I believe in the year 2030 Hive will be more than just what it is, probably going to be at the top 100 or top 20 depending on how exposed and utilized it gets. Because no matter how great you are, if you are not properly utilized, no one will know your worth. Hive needs more users and developers to utilize it, test it limits and add more amazing features to it, so we can be among the top blockchains in the world.
As for the price, I really can’t predict how much the price would be, because if we are using steemit as a reference point, we can see how the price declined over time, although part of the reason can be tied to the Justin Tron takeover. It’s crypto, anything can happen, the price of Hive can be high, let’s say $10 or less. Who knows, I guess time will tell.
