If you haven’t built your portfolio around the opinions of a YouTube crypto influencer then you should know that you have done one good thing in your life. If you are a stubborn independent learner like me who would rather learn online than pay someone teach them, then I think you will be able to relate to this.

I love to learn a lot, but I don’t like being taught or fed shallow knowledge. I love sincerity and honesty when being taught especially when I am paying for it. If you have a complete information about something, please tell me if I am paying for it, if you don’t have the full detailed information but have the shallow one, tell me you don’t have the full details so I research more. Don’t make me pay for a full detailed information then serve me the shallow one. This is the problem I have with paid tutors, getting the genuine ones is difficult. This takes me back to those days I paid for a crypto course.

What an experience!!! They claimed to be crypto trading professionals and promised to teach me everything I needed to be a millionaire after 1 year. They charged me $30 and that was the first red flag, why will you charge me $30 to teach me something that can make me so rich in 1 year. They claimed it was their own way of giving back to the community for making so much money on crypto. That sounded convincing, so I paid for it.

They claimed to be making enough money from crypto but then, they scavenge for students like their lives depended on it. Another red flag but then I needed to learn this, because I wanted to make all those money they promised I would make. Three months later, I was done and it was time to be independent. 1 month while trading I realized that these crypto tutors didn’t know Jack about being successful in crypto except the basic knowledge of crypto and that was what I was taught. They taught me only the basic parts of crypto which I complained to the people in charge about. I felt I was scammed because everything they claimed I needed to learn to be a pro were things I knew already. They make money while pretending to be crypto gurus and teaching crypto than actually trading crypto. Most of them don’t trade crypto.

I decided to learn through YouTube, which was going well until I realized that some of these YouTubers make more money from YouTube than trading. I decided to start learning crypto investment from YouTube and I got the same experience. These crypto investment tutors decided to use YouTube to teach and monetize their views . Imagine other YouTube viewers that come across their videos and decide to learn crypto inversement through those videos.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch YouTube videos for vital information. In as much as we have the wannabe crypto youtubers we still have the genuine ones. I have learnt a lot from watching YouTube videos about crypto investment and with the help of mistakes from past experiences, I have been able to spot and differentiate the genuine ones and the wannabes.

My point is, if you are investing and buying coins because your favorite crypto YouTube influencers said so then I am sorry. You should learn to get information from these YouTubers and use those informations to Do Your Own Research.
