I just realized that I am in the 75th reputation state, great number and great achievement. But who is counting, lol, I am, because I am trying to see how far I can go with this Hive reputation thing. Hive reputation is a very great feature on the Hive blockchain, it shows how much efforts and support for your effort you have gotten. It’s not based on how much post you have done, but rather how much upvotes and supports you have gotten on your post. You can have a lot of of post and still have lower reputation. It just shows that people didn’t really support or upvote those post, thereby not helping increase your reputation. And the Hive power of the curators upvoting your posts matters too, because the higher the Hive power of your curators, the higher your reputation increase chances.
Reputation is also not based on how long you have been on Hive, you can be over 4 years on the blockchain and still have a lower reputation than someone who is just 6 months on Hive but consistent in posting, it all depends on how well you post and how well the post performs. The reputation helps identify the active people from the inactive ones, when you’re active on the blockchain the chances of getting a higher reputation is way higher than when you are not active. For your reputation to increase, you have to make a post for people to upvote, so if you are inactive, how can you get upvotes to increase your reputation?
Now I am on the 75th reputation, I got so curious and decided to check my Hive ranking on Hive Buzz Ranking just to see where I am on the list. I am pretty impressed by my 453rd position, I am honored to be on that position out of all the other users on Hive. Getting to this position is very hard because, the higher you go, the more difficult to have your reputation increase in number. What is the maximum limit of Hive reputation? It’s expected to be at 100 right? But no one is at 100 yet, what if it’s more than 100. The only account close to a hundred is hbd.funder, it’s on 95.23, can’t wait to see it get to 100 and probably surpass it. Is the number limitless?
Talking of where is the maximum reputation limit, when do I stop getting obsessed with trying to have more reputation? I really don’t know, few months ago I was so excited to get to 70 reputation but I wanted to be in the 70 league, then later I wanted to get to 75, now I want to get to 80. But there has to be a time where I have to stop and just accept whatever reputation I am in because, it’s a lot. It could be 80, or 90 or it could be 100, no one knows, only time will tell.
