I don’t know which part of the team brought up the idea of reputation on the Hive blockchain, but I absolutely feel that this is a great idea. We as humans, like being graded and awarded. It shows that people are seeing us and are acknowledging what we are doing. We love that, it motivates us, it drives us, it’s a sign of progress.

Joining the Hive blockchain, I wondered what the number 25 represented, but thanks to the FAQ section, I was able to understand what the number represents and that is my reputation. Reputation increases based on your activities on the blockchain, upvotes from high hive power increases your reputation. Which is great, the more active you are the better for your reputation. But these are for the people who care about reputation, some people are on the blockchain only for the investment purpose, which is also cool, because we all need each other. The blockchain is large and can accommodate every one as long as they are adding value to the blockchain one way or the other.

Getting into the 70 Reputation group was a dream come through for me, less did I know that this is the beginning of the toughest reputation level to scale. I had my reputation planned out, thinking that after a year, my reputation would be 100. But I noticed no one had 100 reputation, the highest I had seen was 83, this gave me the idea that it must be really difficult getting to that reputation.

What Next?

What I have noticed is that,Hive is a process, the best way to have a good experience is to enjoy the process and love what you are doing. Being on the blockchain is a dream come through I never knew I needed. I don’t know how long it will take to get to 100 reputation or how possible 100 reputation is, but for anyone to get there it will take a lot of work and efforts.

Iam grateful for the number of Hive power I have, but some times I wish I could buy more hive to power up so s to match my reputation. I feel I have done enough on the blockchain, I haven’t added enough value to the blockchain, this was problem I used to have in the past until I had to figure a way to calm myself and believe in the process. Its been a great experience so far, and I will love to document each reputation I achieve just a way to encourage myself as I go further.
