This morning feels truly wonderful; I have a little visitor. It arrived unannounced, perching sweetly on a branch of a mulberry tree. Seeing it sit there so charmingly, my heart filled with joy, and I couldn’t wait to take its photograph. This little guest is a Striped fan bird, a beautiful bird belonging to the Rhipiduridae family. It is still very young, with a noticeably short tail. It seems to be learning how to fly; perhaps it grew tired and decided to rest on that tree branch. In a nearby tree, I spotted its parents, chirping away it almost felt as if they were scolding me for photographing their little one without asking for permission first.
The colors adorning the bird are exquisite; its head and back are a brownish-gray, with subtle touches of reddish-brown on its wings. Its chest and belly, meanwhile, are a grayish-white a shade that creates a soft contrast against the darker tones of its upper body. It is a perfectly harmonious color combination. Beyond its striking colors, its fluffy, puffed-up plumage makes it look absolutely adorable.
Its eyes are round and jet-black, fixed steadily upon me. In that gaze, one can sense a deep curiosity about everything in its surroundings especially regarding what I am doing. I truly admire this little bird; despite its youth, it is remarkably brave. It made no attempt to flee as I approached, choosing instead to remain perched, completely at ease, on the tree branch.
