Among the fresh green leaves, a pink-winged grasshopper was sitting peacefully. Perhaps it realized that its body color blended perfectly with the leaf it was perched on, so it didn't bother hiding when it saw me approaching. At first glance, the grasshopper looked like a living leaf, not an insect. Its color truly blended with the leaf.
Its wings were folded neatly over its back, so neatly that it looked like it didn't have any wings. One thing that made me realize the grasshopper had wings was that they extended beyond its rump. To the naked eye, the grasshopper appeared to be just a plain green. However, when I zoomed in, its body was adorned with a very beautiful pattern. Its wings were adorned with fine lines, while the rest of its body was adorned with a densely spaced pattern of dots. Simple yet beautiful.
My encounter with this grasshopper was brief and simple. But in that encounter, I felt a sense of peace that's hard to describe. There was no crowd, no commotion, just the grasshopper, the fresh leaves, and me. Nature is very skilled at arranging all moments.
