Yapper
What must I do?
Must I seal you off with cement?
Must I staple, tape, or sew you shut?
You incapable nuisance, you
I'm stuck with you daily
I'm tried because of your crimes
And yet the fault is my own
Mind to mouth
Mouth refusing to stay closed
Tongue refusing to be tied down
How dare I be so loud?
Swear like a sailor?
Say things I don't mean?
Speak out of place or character?
Start the fight or add to it
I'm supposed to be getting better
Supposed to be a christian
But, who am I really?
A rebel?
A trouble maker?
A trail blazer?
Your worst nightmare?
My words are my own
My wit is quick
My emotions high and my heart on my sleeve
Yet I feel like utter shit!
Every time I say something I can't take back
Every time I mess up
Time after time
Is it too late for me?
Why can't I tame this beast?
Bring forth the torches and pitchforks
This is a big one and it's in rare form
Begin the hunt and be sure to be on point
For this mouth is in motion again
Perhaps one day I will get it right
But until then I'll just be me
So please forgive me in advance
Although, who else could I be?
