Demons

The demons in my head hear the whispers from my heart
They mock me and they taunt me
Flaunting all of my old scars
The tears that fall from my eyes are a reminder of my fate
To drown in every spilt river
Every other breakdown brings
I'm tired and I'm wired
Set for failure and for doom
Most of my days are draining and my roses never bloom
I've been seared with endless bad luck
Depression and anxiety tear at my soul
It seems that upon every day break I slowly lose control
The demons keep persisting that pain is the only way
And some days
More often than not
I cave to the words they say
So do you have demons?
Do you struggle like I do?
I surely hope this thing which grips me
Hasn't gotten its hands on you
I now drink alone in silence
Slipping slowly into my demise
All I wanted was to be loved
All I needed was in your eyes
