For amazing nature contest this week, I am going to highlight my garden, our main source of vegetables as my parents hold the opinion that we should grow our vegetables by our own as much as we can and should not rely completely on the market for our basic needs.
Here's the contest link and this post is the entry to this contest.
Vegetables are a vital part of humans life and every human on this planet is dependent on it for survival, this also reminds me to make a post this week highlighting my garden.
Onions
We had planted this in February and now this week we took it down as they were full with flower stalks which indicates the full growth of the onion plants.
The wild lettuce can be seen growing with them, which is very tasty. That being the reason we had not taken it off from the onion fields.
Pulled it and there's is the fruit of the hard work.
After washing it followed by cutting and drying. We had planted it in roughly 200 sq. ft area and we expect to gain at least 10 kilos of it.
We got nearly three kg today.
Tomato
This we had planted during January and it had yielded very well more than what we have expected, surprising us every year.
We have four plants in total
Chillies growing along with tomatoes
Like every year, we are bored with tomatoes and are giving them away to our neighbours or someone who visits our house.
Pumpkin
The pumpkin took very long to grow, it has been months and we expect it to grow a bit faster. Despite providing all the manure and fertilizers, it should have grown faster. Let's see how it shapes and how much time it takes.
We had planted it in four different places, and one here is growing with brinjal stem.
Taro
And Taro black, this is also a very delicious vegetable and fits perfectly when cooked with dry fish. But the way we use vegetables in our daily life depends on us and our daily recipe.
Thanks for your visit!
