This is a poem which i wrote last year when i had visited our ancestor's place, a small peaceful greenland filled with honest peasants.

Lush tender fields!
Lying thirsty for the monsoon rains;
From barren land to greens and golden,
Far there she stand the fiery sun
Solacing it different day;
Promising new twilight and dawn
Utmost joy, zest and freshness!
Ponds, puddles, mud and water all over,
Earthy aroma floats within the air,
Painting the farmer’s perspiring body
With golden-grayish hues
A land epitomising hardwork,
A land of tranquillity and happiness
To thousands of families,
Lie thirsty for monsoon rains.

Thankyou!
