I've actually never considered any of this in my "hive will be great" speeches. Although I do actually believe that in a truly free society people will eventually gravitate towards the best performing dapps.

Hive is still only a year old. We are only just free of the dominion Steemit inc and moving towards a creation environment. And whilst we all clamber towards creating the next best thing, eventually the best will eat up the rest.

That sounds evil but when presented with too many options a human tends to shut down. This is what happens when I used to tell new users to the Internet to search google for anything they wanted to.

"Too many options, brain shut down"

But you definitely do pose a few interesting arguments!
