Mandopop - Romantic Songs

So today, I will be talking about a particular singer. I am sorry, please bear with me. This is a mandarin song, and I know majority (if not all of you) here are non - Chinese. But there is a special reason why I am sharing this song, as I find it very beautiful and relatable.

So the title of this song is 嘉賓, which stands for "Guest" in English. And now, the song!

So the meaning behind the song is that the male lead/singer is in love with a particular female, but it is unfortunate that they did not get together. Nevertheless, the male singer one day received a wedding invite, from the lady of his dreams. Being a true gentleman, he went ahead and attended the wedding, and giving his blessings. Therefore, the title of the song is "Guest", as he is not a groom, but a mere guest for the wedding of her dream lady.

This songs share about the emotions, the conflict within as he attends the wedding, as he saw the lady walk the aisle but that he is not the groom, and that all is lost. The song repeatedly stress that he should not harp on it, and try to let it all go. So yea, this is the story behind the song, which I find it to be very very meaningful.

Now, i do have quite a fair bit of past. And indeed, I was invited to one of my ex's wedding. Worse, I was placed in a table full of friends who knew that we were once a couple. But hey, things were fine. I left everything behind, so it is all cool. I guess, I had indeed let everything go.
