Now not so much on music as in songs, but today let us talk about chimes!
Now what are chimes? So chimes are defined as melodious ringing sound. Sounds abstract right? But actually, chimes are more common around us than you think! Everyday, we are heavily exposed to chimes!
For instance, the chime that the ice cream truck plays when it is in business. The advertisement chime of the Macdonalds that is so distinctive you just would not mix it up. Honestly, it is just us not taking note of it as we encounter on a day to day basis. But we experience chime way more often than we thought!
Marketing
Now we spoke about the distinctive chime of Macdonalds. So how it works in marketing is that for the case of Macdonalds, it is so distinctive you will automatically associate it with the restaurant. Using the same concept, we even have politicians in certain countries coming up with slogans and chimes to ensure a back of mind brand recollection.
So, this is the power of music. A short 5 seconds chime, can actually constitute to a very successful multi-million dollar industry. Insane right?
