Stage Plays

Now for the longest time, humans have resorted to stage plays for entertainment. In the past, TV does not really exist and plays were all the entertainment there is. I guess, different culture would have some difference, say Chinese might be having puppet shows, whereas Romans might have it in their amphitheatre and sort. But the similarity is, stage plays. Plays that are execute by actors/actresses on a stage.

Now I was a child actor when I was young, and it started through stage play, theatre arts. And I realised, hey actually I am not too bad at it. So I started in a local production, and started in plays in an increasingly bigger setting. But no matter how great things are, i will never forget my roots and the soft spot for stage plays.

Origin

So google states that the first stage play was done in Theatre of Dionysus, built in Athens around the 5th Century. Basically, the first flush toilet appeared around that time, that is how old

I don't know about the name, but the picture sure do look familiar!

Favourite Stage Play

Unfortunately, my favourite stage play was not anything close to what i debut when i was young. My favourite is... Phantom of the Opera. This is a pure classic, awesome.

Phantom, is legit! The first time I caught it, it was in London, UK. I have acted in many, but I only watched one many years after i started acting. It is just outright insane. The sheer use of space (mind you it was a small stage), the projection of voice, the stage presence and all. I was literally blown away and utterly impressed!

I dug in a little bit more, and learnt that the great mind behind was Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. This guy is a legend man, for being able to plan out something so intricate. It is such an amazing masterpiece! Some sadness there though cause the great man retired.

Songs

With stage play, it definitely will not be as boring as just pure dialogues. So songs come in. I swear, you literally can take out their songs and listen and you would have the same intensity and shiver down your spine.

Sharing a couple of my favourite music from Phantom of the Opera

"The Phantom Of The Opera"

"The Music Of The Night"

"All I Ask Of You"

"Think Of Me"

The list goes on, I am a huge fan of Phantom!

Question of the day

Tell me your favourite stage play?
