Hey Guys! I'm here with another ranked battle. I was playing in the Modern Ranked Bracket I. Again I was playing against WEATHERLOVE. I had a mana cap of 25. I chose to play my fire deck. I like to play with lots of cards but I wanted to see how my team would perform with just 2 cards.
Battle Details
Mana Cap: 25
Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death, Dragon
Gameplay Rules: Standard
Modifiers: None
My Team
Summoner: Barthalamas
1st: Jolius Blast
2nd: Chaos Furybringer
I started the battle with summoning my summoner. I went with my fire deck. As I have a low mana cap I need to be careful with my cards.
I played my first card Jolius Blast. I have played this card before and wanted to place this on the front. I only had 2 cards to play so I wanted this card to last as long as possible.
I then played my second card: Chaos Furybringer. I placed this at the back as I wanted to support my Jolius Blast. I hoped that these two cards would be enough.
I love having more cards but I wanted to try something different. I'm not sure if having just two cards was a good idea but I wanted to try.
As it was standard rules there were no modifiers. Both sides would be playing normally.
Battle
My enemy had gone with an Earth deck. They had played 4 cards. I had only played 2 cards. Their first card had 10 health, which is quite a lot. They also had a few cards at the back with attacking abilities.
I was slightly nervous when I saw my enemy's cards. They had more cards than me. However I was keen to see how it would go. We both attacked each other. My Jolius Blast was on the frontline taking damage whilst my Chaos Furybringer supported. My enemy had some weak cards but their first card was going to be a problem.
We both took damage from each other. I hoped that my cards would last long enough to defeat their team. I had only two cards so if I lost any of them it would be a problem. It was quite an interesting battle. I was risky going with a small team. I wasn't expecting to win easily against 4 cards. I just wanted to see if it would work.
Luckily I defeated WEATHERLOVE with my fire deck. I was pleased with this as I didn't expect to win with 2 cards. I played for 7 rounds. Using my Jolius Blast and Chaos Furybringer was a good move.
I received +20 rating and 92 Glint. I'm still in division 8 but I have increased my rating to 720. I was happy to get 20 more rating.
I was pleased with getting 92 Glint. Any rewards are great to get whilst playing ranked. Overall I think going with 2 cards was a good move. I could have made my team bigger with cheaper cards but I wanted to see how my 2 cards would do.
It was also interesting to play against WEATHERLOVE again. They had more cards than me this time but that didn't mean they would win. I think this battle has shown me that having more cards doesn't mean you have a better team.
I usually try different cards depending on the mana cap but sometimes they don't work. However this time I got lucky and won.
Looking into the Future
I'm still trying to increase my rating. I'll try to get out of division 8. I've already gotten over 700 so I want to keep increasing my rating. Hopefully I can get into the next division soon! I think I'll continue to try different teams. Sometimes it can be fun playing with less cards. This was a great example.
Thanks for reading my battle report!
