Hello everyone, how is your Splinterlands matches been going? I'm here to share my gameplay strategy and this time it's another Frontier Ranked match.
The first match when I started I got 29 Mana . I choose to play with Death element again. I have been enjoying using Death element, specially when I can combine Thalgrimore with some strong cards that can put pressure on the enemy from the beginning.
There was no ruleset for this match, so my main focus was simply choosing a balanced team that could survive and deal enough damage.
Mana: 29
Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon
With 29 Mana available, I decided to stay with my Death team. I have been using Thalgrimore quite often because his ability can reduce the health of all enemy units, and that can make a big difference when the battle begins.
After choosing my summoner, I still had enough Mana for three monsters. I wanted to keep the lineup small but make sure every card had a purpose.
Here was my lineup:
Summoner
Thalgrimore - All enemy units have -1 Health (Level 1)
1st Position – Nim Guard Captain (Level 1)
2nd Position – Vengeful Monk (Level 1)
3rd Position – Black Widow (Level 1)
As always, I placed Nim Guard Captain in the first position because I wanted a strong defensive card to protect the rest of my team. With only three monsters, keeping the frontline alive was very important.
Behind him, I placed Vengeful Monk. I really like using Monk in these types of battles because he can contribute both damage and survivability. Monk is a good teammate for Captain because I can put some strong cards behind them without making the lineup too complicated.
In the last position, I have put Black Widow. She is the main damage dealer from the back and I wanted her to have enough time to attack as Captain was holding the enemy in the front row.
My enemy was, CRYPTORHYTHM, he decided to use the Earth element with the summoner Aurelia. Honestly, when I saw their team had Dead Taffarian, Mad Gearhead, and Time Bandit, I had thought I was done for. Because they had healing power because of Aurelia.
I was concerned when I saw their lineup because Earth teams are often strong and I knew I couldn't afford to lose my frontline too quickly. My plan was to let Nim Guard Captain absorb the attacks while Vengeful Monk and Black Widow continued doing their work.
The battle started and both teams immediately began attacking. Thalgrimore's ability was already helping because the enemy monsters had reduced health. That meant my team do not need to deal as much damage to take them down.
Gladly Captain was playing his part at the front and managed to stay alive for a long time and that helped for the other two cards to keep attacking. Monk continued putting pressure on the enemy team while Widow attacked from the back.
As time passed, the enemy's team slowly started disappearing. Once one of their monsters was gone, things became easier for my team because there were fewer attacks coming toward Captain.
The battle continued for several rounds, but my team managed to maintain control. I was happy to see that the combination I had chosen worked well again.
The battle ended after 5 rounds.
Seeing the VICTORY screen was another great moment. This was a nice result because my Death team once again managed to handle the opponent even though they were using a different element.
After the victory, my rating increased by +20, taking me to 1360 rating in Silver II. I also had 58 Energy remaining after the battle.
I tried my luck with lux's favor, I received +300 Sparks from the spin, which very satisfying bonus for today. The Sparks are supposed to be used in the Spark Shop, so I'm happy to have it in my collection.
I am continuing to play and slowly build my progress in the game. Reaching Silver II with 1360 rating was a satisfying result, and hopefully I can keep pushing the rating higher.
This was another enjoyable Frontier Ranked battle. With 29 Mana, I had enough room to build a useful three-monster lineup without having to fill every position.
My Death team of Thalgrimore, Nim Guard Captain, Vengeful Monk and Black Widow worked nicely together. Thalgrimore reduced the enemy's health, Captain protected the frontline, Monk added more pressure, and Black Widow continued attacking from behind.
In the end, the team was strong enough to secure the victory in 5 rounds and increase my rating to 1360 in Silver II.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my battle report!
What do you think about using a small lineup in Frontier Ranked battles? Do you prefer building a team with only a few strong cards or filling more positions when the Mana allows it? And which Death summoner do you like using the most? Let me know in the comments below.
