Are there ways to join in on the fun when things are kicking off?

Most of the truly asynchronous protocols are only probabilistic. (Similar to avalanche). However this concept is very old already(many papers from the 90s discuss it. If we have some known max delays we

ALL distributed BFT-consensus systems are based on synchronicity assumption. That's wrong, there are BFT algorithms without synchronicity assumptions: Haveras Hashgraph is asynchronous Honeybadger Those

Yes, exactly. 3f+1 total nodes where f nodes are faulty means that we need 2f+1 honest nodes to guarantee progress in a classical BFT protocol. I don't see where in DPOS the message complexity comes in

Yeah, but I think that can be solved by thing I pointed out. Financial incentive On top of that, it could probably be a bit more prominent in the UI and when you go to your wallet it shows in red "No

The most important thing to defend against a hostile takeover is to guarantee overlap. Let's assume the extreme of only 1 vote. Assuming the community has 200kmvests to distribute, in the optimal case

If you were allowed to vote infinite witnesses you could even set several proxies. That would make it more trustless. I might not trust 1 persons decisions, but I might trust the average among 5 people.

I think it sets the entry barrier to high for new users. Someone who just arrived doesn't know anyone and has no stake to vote anyway. But with increasing stake there should be a financial incentive to

My idea was more in the lines of not giving people SP inflation unless they use at least 50% of their slots to vote for active witnesses.

There is now way to make a 51% attack impossible. Actually it's even proven that you need 2f+1 honest nodes (roughly 2/3) to guarantee progress. Dan avoids this by making synchronous assumptions. However,

Read my blogpost, it's not a solution either.

I think the biggest problem related to any "voting-based" system is: Voting Apathy A lot of people won't participate in the democratic process and do not hold the elected accountable for their

How else can people get involved in this process?

What else? =D

For me defense, I could've made a 10 page double column paper out of this =D

I did a short analysis:

A few points: You don't need a super majority for a softfork to lock up stake. You just need a normal majority. (Longest chain wins). It's funny how many people throw around 1SP1 Vote, or reduce to three

Rather than having two people of the Korean community (Host and 1 Member) I believe there should be two witnesses of the previous top 20. Those witnesses represent the entire community and not just a part

For sure, now we have to make things work somehow. I don't deny that. And I'm also 100% sure that we have to do this rationally and with a cold head. Insults don't bring us anywhere.

But in this case, the dude told yesterday my buddies wife that he found her beautiful and then actually fucked her. On the next day he told my wife that he found her beautiful. I don't want to jump to
