As a business owner, I am always looking to save a couple bucks here and there. After studying the financials a few years ago I realized that I was spending lots of $$$$ of "repairs and maintenance." I decided to start doing my own repairs.
I do need to say that there are some things in a restaurant that you should leave to a professional and some things you need a certain type of licence to fix.
Since 2014 I have replaced light ballasts, water heaters, simple electrical, learned a little flooring, and a few other things, and I have kept a list of the market value of each repair. I have saved about $30,000 since I started keeping track.
Sometimes doing a little extra work can save you a few bucks here and there...It will add up to real cash!!!!
