There is a new Little Blue Heron working the pond at my favorite coffee spot.
My friend Snowy, a Snowy Egret, is always there and last month was fishing daily with Woody the Wood Stork.
Woody has moved on, but for the past few days this Little Blue Heron has joined Snowy.
I've named her Bitters (a play on Little Bit).
She is a diligent fisher.
I found this very interesting - it looked like she caught a large dragonfly.
She is very beautiful.
I caught her fluffing her feathers and scratching with her huge feet.
Snowy usually gets a little spooked when I get too close and she will fly across the pond and Bitters will soon follow.
I'm looking forward to learning more about her in the days to come.
