Today my 9 year old daughter Kiko and I had an amazing adventure at the park.
While I was playing soccer, Kiko was taking pictures and met Victoria Sun - an incredible model / actress / wildlife lover. Victoria had her rescued Caracal, which had a dislocated left hip.
Caracals are amazing medium-sized cats found in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and India. As an American who has also lived in New Zealand, I had never even heard of them - they are simply amazing! Look at those ears!
Their facial markings are unique. Kiko knew she was a very special wild cat.
Her name is Bastet, named after an Egyptian Godess who was the protector of cats. She is 4 months old.
There are three types of Caracals. Bastet is an Southern (African) Caracal. The other two Caracals are Northern (African) and Asiatic.

When Bastet is healed Victoria will help release her back into the wild.
