Whenever I find a thicket of Milkweed it is exciting because you never know what you will find there.
First I spotted a Milkweed Assassin Bug.
These dangerous (to other small insects) bugs are fun to watch. I don't have much experience with them and this one was the first I saw fly.
As I followed the Milkweed Assassin Bug's flight path I saw something hidden in the stalks.
I found two huge Adult Eastern Lubber Grasshoppers in their intermediate color phase.
These slow moving toxic beauties look like they are wearing armor.
Holding on tight...
They are certainly fun to watch.
Looks like I wasn't the only one spying on them!
