People say illness,
Like it's some sort of disease,
this sickness has the control.
so don't you even try to heal me.
I'm diagnosed,
so that means that I have no say.
I love this comfort of being sick, this torment, and being locked away.
And self pity will be my middle name,
Everybody must know that I'm not that same as them.
Feel sorry for me,
Because my insides are hurting,
feel sorry for me,
Because I don't know how to handle things.
Feel sorry for me, because that makes me feel better.
Accept my pain, because I have a doctor's letter.
I won't have to change if you just throw me a pill,
and cater to my torment,
We'll trust in the doctor's little death pills to heal me.
I won't question the one's "Curing" me.
I'm sick, and I have to make sure you know that.
This is my identity, don't treat me like a human being.
Just tell me that being this way is okay
You must treat me different,
I get special privileges.
Soften your words when you have something to say.
The one thing about being sick,
is that you can be healed.
It's how much you want it,
how strong is your will.
Will you trust in a diagnosis more,
Or stand strong in hope,
Will you accept your fate, and just do your best to cope.
Yeah you've got depression and I've had it too,
Just like anything, it has a start, a reason to strive.
And if you let it, it'll have a reason to die.
But if you don't believe, just look at me,
and I'll be the proof that you need.
These's sick things don't have to foretell your ending.
They don't have to define your being.
They don't have to be your identity.
