I enjoy Theta and am always glad to find another enthusiast. I find the comparison to Netflix to be misleading as it's more of a Twitch competitor by design. Netflix doesn't have a chat or live feeds. The live feed streaming seems to be a major part of the model with Vods being the backup evergreen which maps way more onto the Twitch style system. Another aspect to consider is their plug and play miner. It's not the most effective miner but it's good for people who want to tiptoe into that side of the equation.
