There's this school of philosophy called moral fictionalism. Fictionalism is basically the idea that non-true possibilities can be useful. This branches off into many subgroups that explore different social constructs which could be seen as types of virtual realities. We use these ideas to help grow society. They have merit so why is real vs non real often the debate?
