You're asking the wrong questions. All this Matrix lingo and philosophy has really dumbed down the deeper dilemma. People like to distill things into tribalistic binaries of simple truth vs falsehood. I think rather than discerning whether something is a fiction, you would be much better off looking at it from the lens of lucidity. If you were dreaming lucidly, had control in your dream and were able to do as you willed, then what's real? People think its just a matter of immersion and tricking the senses but there is another critical feedback loop that is being missed. Another layer.
