The common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus) or scarlet rosefinch

Look at this handsome one! He climbed to the very top of the bush, to the very top branch, slightly lowered his wings and sings a song. And as you understand, he does it defiantly, so that all the females in the area see how good he is. These birds appear around mid-May, which is pretty late in my opinion. This bird eats mainly plant food, and occasionally insects, and therefore it is rather strange that he flies later than insectivorous birds.

In Siberia, this bird is also called "red sparrow", or something like "birdberry bird".
