🦉 The Ural owl (Strix uralensis)
📚 Strix strigis (lat.) owl; strideo (lat.) to hiss, whistle
📚 uralensis Uralic
In mid-October, these cute owls begin to appear in this forest. Every year in the same place.
It is a wide ravine, if I may say so, where a tiny stream of the river flows.
And for some reason, this place is so fond of these owls. Most likely there are many mice living there.
This poor owl was sitting resting on a broken branch. When she saw me, she was frightened, but she realized that I was not dangerous, and continued to rest. But unfortunately, four magpies flew to this place to drink. And they raised the alarm, crackled, shouted, and in every possible way drove this owl away.
The owl had to interrupt the rest and fly away from these annoying birds.
