🦉 The Eurasian golden oriole (Oriolus oriolus)
- Oriolus oryolus (lat.) oriole [Old French. oryol oriole, aureolus gold]
This bird is one of the most coveted trophies for wildlife photographers. It's difficult to photograph, let alone even see. It's highly visible, vocal, and constantly tries to hide.
The best time to take a photo is in the spring, when they've just arrived and there's no dense vegetation on the trees yet. Alternatively, hide in the bushes so the bird doesn't notice you, then lure it with your sound.
