🦉 The sand martin (Riparia riparia), also known as the bank swallow (in the Americas), collared sand martin, or common sand martin

These small graceful swallows live on the banks of the river. And every summer I see them walking through the meadows and the shore. They are on the territory of the meadow and the river and catch insects there right on the fly.

After the hunt, they return with prey to their "dormitories" where a whole colony of birds lives. Namely, a vertical sandy wall on a cliff serves as their home, where each pair digs holes.
