I haven't gone to the forest since the beginning of June. The fact is that this year we literally have a tick pandemic in our city! Every week there were more than 2,100 calls to seroprophylaxis centers involving tick bites. And approximately 40% of them were infected. This is a real epidemic! But no one provided free vaccines, no one forced people to get vaccinated, because this is not a “fashionable” Covid.
And yesterday I finally decided to go into the forest.
When it was very warm, +16C, even though it snowed twice 2 weeks ago.
Of course, there are a lot of what I call “classic standard autumn-winter birds” in the forest now.
These birds unite in a mixed flock and fly together through the forests.
The most numerous are great tits.
Willow tits are also with them.
Nuthatches crawled up trees and hid food in crevices in the bark.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker was inspecting the trees and pecking at bark.
I only saw the treecreeper once yesterday. This bird crawled up the tree in a spiral, but did not climb high.
Long-tailed tits. Of course, there were flocks of these cute cuties.
I decided not to go around the forest entirely, but to take a shortcut through a ravine. Because of the humidity, there was a river at the bottom of the ravine, I slipped on the mud and fell.
At the top of the ravine I heard a bullfinch. Finally they are here! It was a lone female.
After much wandering, something huge flew up and landed on a branch. It was a gray owl. How huge she is! It's as if wings were attached to a boar.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t take a normal photo, because this stupid lens let me down again! It couldn't focus.
I sat down on a fallen tree to have lunch. I saw something there that looked like alien eggs.
But I was not able to look at it or have lunch, as I heard the voice of a hazel grouse.
And it began... I spent about 2 hours trying to take at least some photos. What a difficult bird! I hear his voice, go there carefully, look out for him, and he is already in a completely different place. It moves very quickly along the ground without making any sounds! It is amazing.
