The draft Digital Security Law in the controversial Article 57 of the ICT Law may be presented at a Cabinet meeting on Monday.
ICT Secretary Subir Kishore Choudhury confirmed this to Prothom Alo.
Faced with widespread criticism from different sources, the government decided to repeal Article 57 of the ICT Act.
Under the proposed Digital Security Law, sections 54, 55, 56, 57 and 66 of the ICT Law will be repealed once the draft is in force.
However, for all practical purposes, much criticized section 57 will not be lifted because "crimes" as defined in section 57 of ICT behavior are somehow kept in the Digital Security Act.
The draft Digital Security Act shows that the crimes as defined in article 57 have been divided into four parts and kept separately in the Digital Security Law.
Therefore, the draft constitution of 2018 (the seventeenth amendment) may also be submitted to a cabinet meeting in order to retain a 20-year woman's seat in Parliament.
