I just want to share some of my thoughts that have been built upon almost 25 moons spent in the platform. There is much to say but I would like to focus on a few key parts that I believe are the most important things I've managed to achieve with steemit and its amazing community.
I've been a member or a few communities and projects and I've felt support by its members when I was a click away from forgetting about this platform and its currency. I've learn through its more experienced users how the platform and social networking is built on the blockchain and how that can make amazing impact in some other members. I remember when I first read about @schoolforsdg4 and I felt inspired how
@azizbd has managed to provide fruits to the kids attending his school and that was thanks to the community and its fund fed by upvotes and posts. I thought this couldn't be that cool.
As a developer I decided to give a go and build my own project to help attract new users to the first community I joined and helped me and guided me through this vast ocean, MSP (@minnowsupport project). That amazing project helped create some communities and it was the first to go place to find certain groups and communities. Everything was getting more and more interesting and that was around when I heard about
@scrogger and
@oleg326756 and their support minnows programs, guess what! I made my own. After almost 20 weeks I gave up for the same reason I'm currently writing this post.
I created @tuanis as a way to give funds to new members that wanted to join
@minnowsupport project but did not have the required funds to join because of the registration fees. It was a pretty simple project and then I got involved with
@treeplanter where I created another bot which is currently the donation fund bot that helps restore the forest by planting trees with
@martin.mikes and the
@kedjom-keku organization.
Around that same time I found some other projects like @qurator, and then
@helpie but the later was more like
@meno found me :P. Every different project was to be part of a community that pretty much ended up being something bigger, a place where you can meet more amazing people and then I started to realized that most of the time the same people where around or also joined the same communities.
I have just been able to met few steemians in real life like @jrb450,
@flauwy and
@soykatonline (which I'm trying to get her back here). I also feel that
@steembasicincome was a game changer in terms of growth and accessibility, virtually anyone can join and enjoy the benefits and the requirements are even a blocker if you do not own #STEEM but know someone who might be willing to sponsor your share and I'm sure many will gladly do it.
I just recently read this #steemsilvergold post and found it very interesting how projects are trying to make the most of the situation to strengthen and how they promote sustainability of the projects and in the long run its own members sustain growth by being just part of the project. It is very important as well that members give back support by providing upvotes to community posts, upvote to other members posts, join curation trails if their SP allows them to do so and if you have spare SP delegate so the snowball effect will be greater with your own addition.
