I Am Alive! 馃尡
I'm in full thesis mode. And also "finish-stuff-in-december" mode. This means I am often too tired and or lazy to write a post. But I do make it a thing to at least keep my voting power below 100% and engage daily through comments and curations. It is never good to stay too long in one place. One should always be moving, improving and making progress or enjoying, even if it is in small quantities at a time.
This became even more evident to me the past week after learning about the passing away of Rob "Cruisin" Paris, or Rob P Cruisin, who went by the Hive handle @cruisin. I didn't know him personally, but his post My Short Version of About me Rob P. Cruisin gave me some insight and he was certainly not someone who stood still and kept on going till the very end. It was also a reality check that Hive doesn't only let you make new awesome friends, but just like in real life, you can also lose those friends.
Having lost a quarter of my father's siblings and his mother to cancer, I am often aware of the increased chance I have of getting swept up by this disease, and therefore reminded of the fact that a life could end at any moment, even if you live a healthy one.
From this I know you should always keep on moving forward in anything in your life and stay active. Cherish every moment alive and keep on cruisin.
Ending with the lyrics from one of my favorite Linkin Park songs (above) and one I wouldn't mind being played when I cross over: "When life leaves us blind, love keeps us kind".
