Happiness cannot be bought; this is one thing everyone who deserves true happiness should know. Once you have this in mind, your happiness will be your priority. Self-love brings undying happiness into one's life, and this is why I don't joke with anything that brings me true happiness; I can't jeopardize my happiness for anything, though people see it as pride, it isn't. Some people toy with their happiness because they are afraid of what the world will say about them. Such individuals cannot live a happy life because they aren't the determinants of their happiness. Life isn't a bed of roses, and a smooth ride isn't expected, but admit the trouble; it is essential to find what brings one happiness so as not to be depressed.

WHAT IS TRUE HAPPINESS FOR ME?

True happiness for me is finding peace in yourself and in the things you do. Nothing brings me more genuine happiness than seeing myself succeed and achieve greater heights. I don't like competing, which is why I indulge discipline, dedication, and integrity in all I do because these three factors are great determinants of one's success in life. True happiness for me is seeing myself achieve what people believe is impossible. I came from a society where a female child is believed to be a beggar because the male child is always referred to as the head and breadwinner of the family. It is believed that a female child cannot amount to what a male child can. I grew up with this mentality, but when I became older, I decided to change that notion.

As I said earlier, self-love, that is, putting myself first, is the one thing I put in place to give me true happiness. Not minding what is surrounding me and just enjoying what I do to the best of my ability makes me feel complete, which makes me believe I can do the impossible even as a lady. Seeing myself at the top brings immense joy and gladness into my life, and that's why I choose myself over anything else.

At times, putting myself first does come with lots of criticism, with people thinking it's wrong from their points of view, with one or more reasons why I should see it as wrong. But my passion for success doesn't let me take no for an answer. To prove my point that a female child can also be as great or even greater than a male child, I need solid evidence that will be glaring for all to see. Anytime I remember this, it stirs up the passion in me to work harder toward achieving my set goals and aims at any cost.

CAN SUCH HAPPINESS LAST LONG?

At some point in life, we all need a friend, which means there are times you would want to forget yourself just to help someone dear to you. It happens, and it isn't taboo; it is required sometimes, but in the process of caring for your loved ones, putting oneself in check is also important. Many may ask, Would self-love last longer than prioritizing others over yourself? From my point of view, I will say yes, because seeing yourself succeed when the world says it is impossible brings genuine happiness into one's life. Climbing the ladder of success and remaining at the top is a great deal, and it brings lasting happiness, especially for someone like me who comes from a society where a female child is expected to be less. My success is my pride, and that's why my principle remains to prioritize myself over anything or anyone else.

Thanks for your time and your comments will be appreciated.
