Today's prompt got me laughing because I'm trying to figure out the fun things I've done in six months, and I can find just one, which was an outdoor event, and several others, which were indoor and mostly revolve around food.
I love food. Yeah, you can say that again. I love preparing my food myself. It is a fun thing for me because I can't imagine myself not eating what I want when I want it.
I've been a bit busy these days, but I still make time to cook my food. Cooking is one of my best hobbies; naturally, I love trying out new recipes, but time hasn't permitted me to cook to that extent. I guess I took my love for cooking from my grandma (maternal) and my mother; they are both great cooks, and I don't like missing out on their food.
I always look forward to visiting my grandma because anytime she knows I'm coming, my favorite meal, amala with ewedu, is always prepared with fresh fish, but I can substitute it with beef or something else like chicken.
I can't imagine a lady who will say she can't cook or probably see it as stressful work to do, but for me, it is part of me that makes me complete as a lady. For my six months, it's been indoors, cooking and cooking non-stop, and that is a fun thing for me.
The fun I had outdoors was during the Easter celebration, where I visited the kiddies pack with my siblings and was made to climb a big pendulum that nearly pluck my heart out of my chest, all in the name of me facing my fear of height.
I was so scared and vowed never to try that again; it wasn't a palatable experience for me. That day, I actually told my sister that I would love to experience what it's like to be on the big pendulum, and she encouraged me to try it out. I later changed my mind about it and decided not to go on it anymore, but sitting down and watching others ride makes it look simple to me, and I felt that I could actually ride, so I decided to go on a ride.
But the story was different when I got on it; it was like a death trap. I wondered how others on it were able to take pictures while it was moving. I actually closed my eyes throughout, but some were enjoying the ride as if everything were fine; maybe it was for them but not for me.
Another fun thing I can say I've done is bake. My mom happens to be a baker and a chef, so most times when she has an order, I do help her with some, and that was fun for me. I look forward to trying more fun things, though, as the year runs out, especially trying out new recipes.
