You may know what you said, but never what the other heard..
For some people It's really difficult to freely express themselves or communicate, mostly in public..
When I was in college, I passed through hell learning and trying to communicate, I hardly talk in the class because I was scared of what the lecturers reply will be, or how mg fellow students will react to my question or answer...
It wasn't an easy one, but I noticed that even after reading on how to communicate, everything depends on the person or people you are communicating with, how do they listen, understand and value your speech..
Sometimes I talk and talk and at the end I get criticised. I do feel really bad but I was learning too, all these where happening until I was nominated to be the faculty president.. 🤦
It was a nice experience for me, at first I was just not doing well, always hiding from meetings, giving various excuses and sending my vice to always stand for me..
She was enjoying it when I send her to stand for me not until she started having the feeling that I was kinda incompetent and what pains her the most is that the credit always comes back to me...
As times goes on, she started giving excuses too why she can't stand for me, and that was when I faced my worst fear, I reviewed previous feedback from the HODS, DEANS and students to enable me plan better so as to meet their expectations...
Thank God I did well and when I saw people clapping and giving me praise, I enjoyed it from there and it became part of me..
Knowing what to say might not really count but what others heard or want to hear matters a lot and the best way to acquire this skill is by practice and training..
avoid running from conversation or open talks, engage and learn to listen too...
Thanks

Obrigado..
