Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the release of salon owner, Shelley Luther. Luther refused to abide by the shutdown order imposed due to the Corona Virus. Luther was arrested and fined. The judge on the case ordered that the salon owner apologize for her selfish actions and close her salon. The salon owner respectfully informed the judge that she did not agree that opening her business in order to feed her children was a selfish act.
The judge sentenced Luther to seven days and a fine of $7000 on the charge of contempt of court. Both Governor Abbott and Attorney General Paxton called for the immediate release of the owner of Salon A La Mode. A Go Fund Me Page has raised over $135,000 in support of Shelley Luther and her business.
