Man I really hope there's no substance to this virus causing AIDS. If so, the whole world is completely fucked, including China. Nearly everyone will be dead in a few years time. Self-isolation will just buy a little time. There won't be anything left to rule for the despots. Most or all of them will perish with this. No miracle drug or vaccine would save us from that because any systems required to maintain a population infected with an immunodeficiency-causing virus would collapse under the weight of the dead bodies. When all of these systems collapse, the elites will be on the same level playing field as the rest of us. The virus will get them too, if the masses don't lynch them first. I really, really hope the AIDS thing isn't true.

That said, I don't see any signs that this pandemic is slowing down yet. I look at the charts and we're still accelerating in the exponential growth phase outside China. It has likely permeated the US at this point and we're now measuring where we were at 1-2 weeks ago, maybe even longer. I don't know where the Europeans are at on testing. They're probably getting a better picture than we are. Here they have no idea of the scale yet.

A nurse friend of mine on FB reposted a report from a nurse in NYC today that medical facilities there are beginning to become overwhelmed. Even if this is just what it seems on the surface, with no immunity-evasion or AIDS, it's going to get very, very bad soon. I feel sorry for everyone that's about to go through this hell, from the victims to the medical workers, and all of their families.
