In October of last year we planted the greenhouse with lots of winter greens so we could have a salad garden. It did really good for the first part of the year but now most of the plants are dead. Since some plants are dead I pulled out all of the dead ones today so that we could plant some new plants.
Here is what is left of the cabbage. Out of the six plants we planted we were able to harvest four of them.
The Chinese Cabbages all died earlier in the year so they were pretty bad.
I also picked out all of the brown lettuce in the lettuce patch. Since there wasn't very much lettuce left I replanted it with arugula, spinach, and extra lettuce. Before I planted the lettuce I soaked the area with our rain water so I wouldn't have to water them after they were in the ground since the seeds would float to all of the low areas.
The only other thing I pulled out was the tomatoes and their cages.
Another thing that I did today was to plant about 30 cabbage seeds so that way we could transplant them once they grow and when it gets warmer.
