Greetings friends, today I come to talk with you about the demographic problem of China, we all know that China threatens the hegemony of the United States, China is the second world power but many experts assure that in the next decades it will reach the number one place and then it will I will talk about the Chinese dream, but that possible Chinese dream is becoming increasingly distant when we analyze the demographic problem.
As we all know, China had the one-child policy for decades, as it faced serious economic problems and the Chinese Communist Party enacted that law, so families had many abortions because they preferred to have men as children, that has simply brought demographic inequality. there are no women to keep up the Chinese population growth. So China today has 1.540 million inhabitants, but it presents a serious demographic problem in the future, today you can already have 2 children per family, but most women do not even want to marry, marriages have decreased by 40 %.
China depends on its population on its growing economy to face crises such as those of 2008, since the active population is the one that maintains the elderly population, but in a few years there will be a large elderly population, an estimated 350 million women of 70 years in comparison against 150 million women between 20 and 40 years old, something economically unsustainable.
For China to stop having that problem, it needs a birth rate of 2.2 children per woman and today it only has half, so it is a big problem, today they are enjoying a good economy due to the policies of one child per family but These policies will have consequences in the long term, so we learned that although the territory is important, the population is even more important, we must closely follow the Chinese case but I do not believe that it will become the first world power.
