I have been using Steemit for a couple of weeks now. I love the concept and I really see how it can be a great social platform. But I am really pissed with bots doing rounds commenting and upvoting.
I read some posts on how the rules were changed to not reward anybody upvoting or commenting in first 30 minutes, but I don't think it is fair for new authors. Most of new authors are writing in popular category and their posts get buried way down if people are not upvoting or commenting for 30 minutes due to no rewards.
I would recommend that something like a captcha should be used for discouraging bots and ensuring that there is a real person upvoting and commenting. It will be fair to all authors and curators who are spending time on platform .
I would love for someone from steemit team to comment on this as why should a new author be penalized for keeping bots away.
