We live in a world where we can buy, see, stream, access everything in the internet with the push of a button.
This event has awakened an insatiable hunger within us to desire to have everything immediately.
We now live our lives being addicted to instant gratification , meaning if we want something, we have to have it now. We don't feel the need of striving for it, waiting for it or working for it.
We only focus on that one word. "NOW".
This can be applied in everything.
Take for example:
Iphone X is out, I want it NOW!
I'm hungry, I want food NOW!
I like her, I want sex NOW!
I'm new to work, I want a raise NOW!
aaaaaandd....
I'm new to steemit, I want to make a $100.00 blog NOW!
You see? Discontent and greed are very dangerous things which can keep us from living life to the full. I am personally guilty with this because I wrestle with it everyday. I want a million dollars in my bank account RIGHT NOW!
but sadly, life doesn't work like that.
Instead, I try to appreciate and work with what I have. A friend once told me:"slow is fast
When we don't rush things, we begin to see a bigger picture.
A lot of the happiest people I know aren't rich.
They simply just live and love.
And I feel that as a part of the steemit community, I have to focus on quality content and community engagement not just make money.
Am I being too naive? I really don't know.
I'll end this post with a quote from one of my favorite songwriters, Jon foreman.
When success is equated with excess, the ambition for excess wrecks us, as the top of the mind becomes thr bottomline, when success is equated with excess
