It was summer time and we were out for internship in Gujarat. So taking a break we all went to Diu, a coastal town in the Union Territory of Daman & Diu. Diu I quite scarcely populated making it the tenth least populated district in India. The buildings and monuments include both Indian and Portuguese art effects.
We hired a scooty from our our hotel. At first we went to Diu Fort which was built just on the seashore. Its an looks stunning when you stand high on the fort and what you can see is only "sea"and the breeze thrashing against the face.
Next spot was Naida caves, which are not natural caves, but the result of quarrying by Portuguese. The cave is situated in quite a large area.
Hanging roots of an old tree.
Gangeshwar temple, an ancient Lord Shiva temple. It gives a divine feeling when you see the sea doing Abhishek( an auspicious bath for a deity; shower of milk or water over an ideal for purification or cleansing) of Lord Shiva. There are 5 Shivalingas and whenever there is a high tide the seawater comes till the Shivalingas and washes them.
Lastly Nagoa beach
DIU- That must look stunning at night, but unfortunately we went during daytime :(
