My bedsit (UK word for one room apartment) is too small for a kitty, but until recently my mum's friend had a cat called Buffy and I used to get 'Purr Therapy' every time I visited from my feline friend, as well as a nice chat and a cuppa from my human friend lol

But in all seriousness, cats are healing animals. They can feel when you're ill and intuitively focus love and Purrs on those people as standard. I still have bad problems with chronic illness, but the one positive I can think of is that even the most grumpy cat always approaches me and plonks itself on my lap so I can pet it and chill out.
