I am a writer of Sci-fi kaixin@kaixin

And in my imagination it is because the ships would have some protective mechanism to allow them to withstand the immense pressures that black holes and worm holes exert in their gravitational pull.

The planet, all the robotic creations and the alien would be torn to pieces whereas the ships would pass through safely. At least that is my idea with a bit of writers' poetic licence 🤣

It is an interesting topic--the curse of immortality. In fact, many times life can only be a kind of suffering, so I guess "enter that great mystery of oblivion" must be a fresh even romantic experience.

Yes, Ann Rice explores this idea in her vampire novels (interview with a vampire being the most famous) that after 400-500 years life would become almost a chore or a sufferance to be endured.

Whatever the real truth, it is an interesting thought experiment 🤔 😂
