In Chinese Lu-Shi/quatrain, there is a special rhetoric named pairing or antithesis. (i.e. noun to noun, verb to verb.) Sorry, I don't know how to explain it in English well.

Here, you see
两个and一行are both quantifier.
黄鹂and白鹭are both noun.
鸣and上are both verb.
翠柳and青天are both noun.

That is really interesting to learn, and not to worry, the explanation is good 🙂 I understood what you meant.
It is a perfect example of how a western poet could maybe write a better Lu-Shi/quatrain if they studied and learned to write Chinese. I think it would take me a long time to learn how to effectively communicate my ideas well in written Chinese though 😂 But it would be an interesting 10 year challenge.

Yes, but reading in a second or third language is sooooo difficult. I am ashamed to admin that I only speak/write English. Also, I do have a tendency to use some obscure words as I love exploring the language and expanding my vocabulary. Sometimes simpler words can be better for getting the meaning across in poetry, and I guess I am guilty of ignoring this rule a little 😉

Haiku are good at preventing the writer getting bogged down in complex words and meanings as they're so short.
