you are also the only person from the West talking about Chinese Lu Shi and quatrain who I've met in Hive. You even wrote a Lu Shi by imitating Li Bai's writing style.

I really enjoyed researching that poetic style. I honestly think that every writer should read widely in different cultures to gain new perspective. There are considerations around language and translation that are difficult to deal with. For example I'm sure that my poem Guanyin's Whispers doesn't completely reflect how such a poem might sound or feel written in Mandarin, but I felt like it tried to stay true to the Chinese Lu-shih (Regulated Verse) by keeping to a nature theme, strict rhyming and honouring the ancient Buddhist saint Guanyin.

I think that one of the greatest things about the internet is being able to learn from and connect with people from all over the world.
