Hi @kaixin
That is great to hear that you enjpoyed the short story, and high praise that it reminded you of Oscar Wildes fairy tales... thank you. I have been focusing on writing fiction off hive, and posting mainly poetry here, so it is good to hear that there are still peeps who enjoy fiction on hive 😍 I really enjoyed writing this story as well, it felt kind of playful and fun as I was writing it.
"He must have reached the point of no return when the walls come down and the performance takes him over."
It is in reference to his occupation of acting student. There are subtle clues dotted about the story (the script etc)... but they might not be clear enough to be honest 😉 Also, it kinda describes how I used to get when I was younger and could drink enough to lose my memory like the main character. I'd often get recall a few weeks later and remember how my behaviour had become almost like a distinctly separate character performing for the amusement of my friends. Suffice to say, I don't drink that heavily anymore 😂
