Hard-hitting stuff, and very well written @erodedthoughts
Where do we leave the individual on the battlefield of life.
The lone soldier left with no rights.
Indeed, and I think the 60's proved that with the amount of Vietnam vets coming home legless (literally) and shuffled away out of sight, out of mind, with a Social Security check to get by one, but none of the grief counselling that someone really needs after facing the horrors of war and emerging from the other side a wreck with PTSD.
Looking at actions is more important than mere words.
There are more than two sides to every war.
So many blindly join in on one side the herd.
How does your fight tally up, what is your score?
I also loved this stanza, as it is exactly what I do when a general election is called here in the UK. I look at the actions of the past, and present, of the current leaders of each party and judge them based on these facts.
Most times I simply deface the voting slip with a message on it in permanent marker saying "fck you all, and your two-party systems."
Great poem, and message 🙂👍
