Hello, dear friends of ProjectHOPE:
Success is usually the inspiration and goal of the activities we carry out, so we wish it is not ephemeral or fleeting.
For this reason, I share with you a concept of sustained success that I like very much, the long-term success, that is, the one that is achieved and evolves through consistent and methodical work applying continuous improvement, with constructive vision in the short and medium-term.

And what does continuous improvement consist of? was created by Edwards Deming and is also known as PHVA cycle (Plan, Do, Check, Act), it is used by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in its management systems standards, being the most widely applied worldwide in the field of quality, environment, information security and health and safety standards among others, in the public and private sector.
It is also a methodological reference for work teams and for people who wish to achieve success in a planned and consistent way, overcoming and evolving with the changes of the environment in a proactive way.
There are several representations of continuous improvement, but the four basic processes or phases proposed by Deming are still maintained, which are interrelated and can be complemented with others that facilitate them, such as feedback. I explain them in summary below:
Plan: Objectives, goals, activities to be carried out, necessary resources, and training needs are defined.

Doing: The planned activities and actions are carried out. The results obtained are recorded.

Verify: The effectiveness of the activities is checked, identifying possible causes and areas for improvement.

Act: After having carried out the previous processes, corrective, preventive or projective actions are identified to obtain better results. The cycle starts again

The PHVA is a simple cycle, but not simply because it is necessary to perform it repeatedly, hence its continuous denomination, as well as it requires teamwork, feedback, and control activities implicit in all its processes.
As Deming indicated "You cannot improve what you do not control; you cannot control what you do not measure; you cannot measure what you do not define", that is to say, it is necessary to carry out the complete cycle, to really apply the continuous improvement and to give an answer to the established requirements in an efficient way.

As you can see, perhaps many of you have been intuitively applying continuous improvement for some time now.
I hope this publication will be useful to strengthen and renew it.
The invitation is to keep improving, evolving, and enjoying life with optimism!
See you soon dear friends of ProjectHope
